• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy is Head of Department of Animal Biotechnology, Institute of Biology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. She graduated Bachelor degree at Faculty of Biology, Hanoi University (now renamed as Hanoi University of Natural Sciences) and PhD from University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany in 2004 in Animal Biotechnology. She has almost 30 years doing research on molecular genetic analysis of animals. Her research activity focused on two followings: (i) genomic analysis of local breeds mainly pigs and chickens for evaluation of genetic diversity and molecular marker assisted selection; (ii) genetic variation and molecular epidemiology of pathogens in livestock such as: parasite, bacteria and virus (PRRSV, PPV, PCVs). Her obtained results aim to develop the molecular methods for pathogen detection in field strains.
